# 77 Finally, a return to the blog

Good morning friends and readers.

Apologies.  Not quit the week I promised in the last post.

I am sitting here wondering what has taken me so long to get back to this blog. It is not as though I am with material, pictures, stories, new carvings, new ideas. Perhaps my excuse is that I have a new band saw in my garage and now I can go out there any day and cut out a new carving blank. Then, when I have time, I can sit and carve those blanks. And there have been many of them over the past, what is it now, six months. Presently I am working on penguins, turtles, carrots with faces, houses and whales.  I have also “rediscovered” a pile of white pine in my garage.

It has also been great to have other carvers over to join in the fun. Recently we had ten folks in the basement, half were new to the carving group. We even had some ex-pat Iraqis, some of whom could not speak great English. We hope they will come again to join us. If everyone who has come to carving in the past month would come at once we would have fifteen to eighteen carvers. That is mind boggling.

Enough rambling. I wanted to let you know that I have not given up on the blog and that I do have plans to post more ideas, carvings, wood carving chat, pictures etc. I do hope you have continued to carve. I would love to see more of your work. Let’s share.

Until next time, Shalom.
