re-using, recycling, and redeeming old wood

78 Talk about recycle: Matchstick Fleet

There.  Can you see it?  A new post.  Now, just because there hasn’t been any for a good long time, it does not mean that we haven’t been enjoying wood carving, wood carving friends, carving sites, reading about wood, handling wood and more.

The image above comes from one of the more recent sites explored.  Phil Warren had created an entire navy, out of matchsticks!  What comes to mind are words like: amazing, patience, care, skill, detail, enjoyment, gift.  Way to go Phil.  Find the link below.

Hope you are finding enjoyment in the fellowship of carvers or in the beauty of wood, new, recycled or refurbished.  We are still teaching classes.  Every first and third Monday we have an open class.  Give us a hollar some time.  Sit with us.

“Four things on earth are small yet they are extremely wise:
Ants are creatures of little strength yet they store up their food in the summer;
hyraxes are creatures of little power, yet they make their home in the crags;
locusts have no king, yet they advance together in ranks;
a lizard can be caught with the hand, yet it is found in kings’ palaces.”  Proverbs 30: 24-28

  2. Hi Mel. It has been too long. I have lots of saved up ideas and photos. Just need to get at things a little more often. I have some great photos from China. I state that so I will share them more quickly.
